Throat mics are great for covert use, or where a traditional mic isn't appropriate. Popular with motorcycle riders, security/door staff and for use in noisy environments, these initiaitve devices use a vibration microphone located on a neck band which sits over the larynx in order to transmit speech. A seperate earpiece runs from the neck band to deliver audio to the ear, whilst a seperate PTT button on a wire (could be used on a finger down the arm, or as a lapel PTT) can be used to toggle transmit on the radio.
