Delcom have supplied many international aid organisations with long range HF radio communications equipment, for use in humanitarian aid vehicles.

The photos on this page, mostly taken in Africa, show just some of the vehicles our radios are installed into. We can also provide handheld equipment, as well as equipment for installation in both watercraft and aircraft.

Types Of Equipment

Typically we provide aid orgnaisations with long range HF equipment - both for installation in vehicles and for use in the field ('manpack' devices). In addition many aid organisations are starting to take advantage of vehicle tracking technologies that can be integrated with radio systems. For shorter (-50km) range communications some organisations also use VHF 2 way radio eqipment. In addition to radio equipment many clients have also purhcased satellite equipment from us such as Thuraya SIMS and satellite phones.

The type of equipment very much depends on where it is being used and for what prupose. Whatever the requirements our experienced team of engineers can provide impartial advice on the best equipment and band to use. Among the brands we stock are Codan, Motorola, Barrett and ICOM - all world leaders in rugged long range communication equipment.

Delcom can supply equipment as boxed new equipment, undertake all programming and even arrange or perform installation in the vehicles base country. Our engineers have traveled as far away as Sierra Leone.

If you already have engineers or staff in the country where the equipment is located, then Delcom will happily liase with your teams in the host country in order to determine equipment requirements. 

All equipment can be supplied pre-programmed in the UK and sent in kit form to it's country of use, which would allow any vehicle technician to quickly and easily wire up the equipment and install it onto the vehicle.
