Simon is a builder whose company covers large construction projects across the whole of the UK. Sadly, like many construction companies, Simons firm had been the target of numerous thefts, vandalism and break-ins - resulting in losses for clients and Simons firm.
In order to win a large contract Simon was asked by his client to provide an on-site security system. The purpose of the security system was mainly for health & safety reasons, in order to prevent persons climbing the scaffolding. In addition it was intended to prevent losses occuring as a result of vandalism on-site, by way of sounding an audible alarm to warn off intruders - and to contact keyholders in order to undertake a manned response.
Simon approached Delcom and asked us to tender for a scaffold security system that could double up for use in the rest of the site, at ground level, as a construction site security alarm. The system needed to be able to be rapidly re-deployed by his staff and also needed to be uncomplicated and simple to use by any of the site staff.
Delcom provided Simon the wireless RoboGuard security system. In addition to the basic system (sensors and HQ), Delcom also supplied the wireless solar powered siren and GSM communicator add-ons.
This meant that not only were intruders given an audible warning but also that the keyholder/mobile security unit would be quickly alerted to an intruder and could mount a response accordingly. Thanks to using a mobile phone SIM card (PAYG or contract) rather than a traditional phone line, the GSM communicator can be quickly deployed anywhere. The GSM unit can dial and/or send text messages via it's on board SIM card, in addition it can be used to remotely control the RoboGuard system and check it's status.
With dual-beam technology the system does not suffer from false alarms and the wireless sensor bars can be rapidly securely fixed anywhere on site. Each dual beam PIR sensor has a battery life of 2+ years, covers a 25 metre distance and has a detection angle of 110 degrees.
The sensors communicate wirelessly with the handheld HQ unit (battery or mains powered). The HQ supports up to 8 wireless sensors and can be connected a GSM controller/dialler and wireless external sirens.
